Repression against Palestine Congress in Berlin

On Friday 12 April, several hundred police officers violently broke up and dispersed the Palestine Congress, which had been planned for a long time and coordinated in detail with the so-called forces of law and order in Berlin. The course of the event was interfered with on the basis of outrageous justifications that contradicted all constitutional norms, negotiations with the event organisers and their lawyers were refused and no concessions were made.

This is the culmination of a campaign by the German government that has been going on for months to prevent any solidarity with the people of Palestine and criticism of the German government’s military and political support for Israel. Rooms for events are being refused or cancelled, speakers are being uninvited or prevented from entering the country. The latest scandalous examples are the disinvitation of philosophy professor Nancy Fraser from a guest lecture at the University of Cologne and the current ban on the political activities of former Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis.

This is the practice of an advanced state of war - Germany’s contribution to the Gaza war.

- We are in solidarity with the solidarity movement for Palestine.

Free political activity for the Palestine solidarity movement!

Withdrawal of all obstructions and settlement of claims!

 Stop the war in Gaza!

Stop all political and military support for Israel by the German government!
